Ở bất kỳ độ tuổi nào, dù là trẻ em hay người lớn, đều có khả năng mắc phải tật khúc xạ nếu cảm thấy mắt nhìn mờ hoặc khó tập trung vào các vật thể xa - gần.
✨ DO YOU REALLY “UNDERSTAND” REFRACTIVE ERRORS?
At any age - whether in children or adults - refractive errors may occur when vision becomes blurred or when there is difficulty focusing on objects at near or far distances.
Theo chuyên môn, tật khúc xạ xảy ra khi các tia sáng song song đi qua hệ thống khúc xạ của mắt không thể hội tụ chính xác trên võng mạc, từ đó tạo ra 3 dạng tật khúc xạ chính là:
1️⃣ Cận thị (Myopia) - Nhìn gần rõ, nhìn xa mờ
Thường gặp nhiều ở độ tuổi học sinh – sinh viên, đặc biệt khi sử dụng thiết bị điện tử nhiều hoặc ít hoạt động ngoài trời. Ngoài các yếu tố môi trường, tật cận thị còn bị ảnh hưởng bởi yếu tố di truyền.
2️⃣ Viễn thị (Hyperopia) - Khó khăn khi nhìn gần, nhìn xa có thể rõ hơn
Một số trẻ nhỏ có thể viễn nhẹ bẩm sinh mà không nhận ra.
3️⃣ Loạn thị (Astigmatism) - Mờ, nhòe ở mọi khoảng cách
Có thể kèm theo một số biểu hiện như thường xuyên mỏi mắt, nghiêng đầu, cổ vẹo, nheo mắt để cố nhìn rõ
From a medical perspective, refractive errors occur when parallel light rays passing through the eye’s refractive system fail to converge precisely on the retina. This results in three main types of refractive errors:
1️⃣ Myopia (Nearsightedness) – Clear near vision, blurred distance vision
Myopia is commonly seen in school-aged children and students, especially those who frequently use electronic devices or spend limited time outdoors. In addition to environmental factors, myopia is also influenced by genetic predisposition.
2️⃣ Hyperopia (Farsightedness) – Difficulty with near vision, while distance vision may be clearer
Some young children may have mild congenital hyperopia without being aware of it.
3️⃣ Astigmatism – Blurred or distorted vision at all distances
This condition may be accompanied by symptoms such as frequent eye strain, head tilting, neck deviation, or squinting in an attempt to see more clearly.
➡️ Nếu không được phát hiện và điều chỉnh đúng, tật khúc xạ có thể tiến triển nặng theo thời gian. Do đó, cần thường xuyên thăm khám mắt định kỳ, thực hiện nghỉ ngơi mắt theo nguyên tắc sau mỗi 20 phút mắt làm việc nhìn gần - hãy nhìn vào điểm ở xa 20 feet (~6m) - trong 20 giây để bảo vệ đôi mắt của bản thân và gia đình.
⚠️ Đặc biệt với trẻ em, ngoài việc đeo kính đúng độ, hiện nay còn có các phương pháp kiểm soát tiến triển cận thị, giúp duy trì thị lực khỏe mạnh và hỗ trợ học tập hiệu quả hơn.
➡️ If not detected and corrected appropriately, refractive errors may progressively worsen over time. Therefore, regular comprehensive eye examinations are essential. In addition, it is recommended to rest the eyes following the 20–20–20 rule: after every 20 minutes of near work, look at an object 20 feet away (~6 meters) for 20 seconds to help protect the eyes of yourself and your family.
⚠️ Especially for children, in addition to wearing accurately prescribed glasses, there are currently effective myopia control methods available to help slow myopia progression, maintain healthy vision, and support better learning outcomes.
